Our Learning Community Expectations
Isaacson Insider

Ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment is one of our classroom goals.  To achieve this we use the following expectations in our classroom:

1. Be safe—We use kind words, actions, and signs.

2. Learn—We have the right to learn.  We do not disrupt the learning of others.

3. Respect—We respect ourselves, our environment, and others.

We will learn a special skill, each week that will guide us to make choices that support a positive, creative, and productive learning environment.  There are 16 basic Boys Town Social Skills that are taught, demonstrated, and expected of Meade 46-1 students.

Introducing Yourself Following Instructions Accepting a Criticism Accepting "No"
Greeting Others Getting the Teacher's Attention Asking For What You Want Disagreeing
Giving a Criticism Saying "No" Saying You're Sorry Talking With Others
Giving Compliments Accepting Compliments Offering to Help Reporting to the Teacher

In the event that a child does not meet our classroom expectations consequences are fair, logical, and consistent. Please refer to the Sturgis Elementary Handbook for our school's discipline plan.
